Yes, you CAN get STDs while using a condom, but it is very unlikely if you use it correctly. Even if you use it correctly, a condom is not 100% effective at preventing STDs.
Condoms can tear or be dissolved by certain lubricants and spermicides. Make sure that whatever lubricants you use are safe for latex condoms.
Basically, condoms are a good defense against STDs, but the only 100% defense is abstinence. So, if you're going to have sex, use a condom.

there are some stds that condoms cannont protect against, such as herpes and genital warts, and others. the only protection against them is to not have sex, or any sexual contact. but to protect yourself further, have your girlfriend get tested for stds before doing anything with her, and use condoms at all times
