and leg is there any kinda exercise that I can help them with ?

As stated before, your friend will be sent for physical therapy, when the time is right. The therapist will work the muscles and try to get them to move again. You can help to support him and let him know that you are there for him during this very upsetting time. Encourage him to feel positive and try not to look at him as "disabled." I have seen people who were to they would never walk again get up a go. Being a good friend and having patience is a wonderful gift!

You definitely shouldn't do anything without the doctor's say so. You could cause more harm than good. When/if your friend is ready for physical therapy, the doctor will refer him to a physical therapist. When that happens, perhaps you can help with the exercises the therapist advises he do at home; and if so, make sure you follow the therapist's instructions to the letter.

Doesn't he have an occupational therapist?
