I like some, and hate others. But the meat pies I like the best
are: The Jamaican Beef Patties, absolutely awesome!
Oh, I almost forgot another one I like very much too:
Spanish Empanadas....I hope I spelled that right.

The best pasties in the world come from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Say "Ya" to da U.P., eh? There's a place in one of the suburbs of Detroit that makes pasties that are pretty darned good, but they're nothing like the ones I had in Marquette and Houghton. OK, NOW I'm in the mood for pasties! Thanks a lot -- now I'll have to schlep over to Livonia and get some...

I love pasties. They originate from the mines in Wales and were used by the miners as something easy to transport and eat at mealtime, which could also be used to warm your hands! (They would put them in their pockets).
Since I don't eat any red meat or fowl, I make mine with all vege's and they are still great! Maybe a good dinner later this week.

They are called "pasties" and traditionally they come from Cornwall - hance Cornish Pasty. They were taken down the mines by tin miners in Cornwall who would hold them with their hands by the rough pastry edge and disgard the dirty pastry edge away after eating the pasty.
They are usually made with potato, onion and swede with some finely chopped beef and they should be quite peppery.

Like any other food I've had some great ones and some really bad ones lol.
They are however handy as pockets in yer underwear when it comes to portability in lunches!!
May the joy, hope, peace and love of the season be with you and yours.

Best ones I tasted............. On vacation in Bath, UK, waiting in front of a tiny coffee shop. We were waiting for the tour bus to go to Stonehenge.
Bought several and ate a couple before the tour.

They do taste good, but I can only have a small amount as I don't like too much meat.
