This test is primarily an initial screening, and it takes a radiological specialist to determine what the spots might mean. They could be unrelated to the illness.

Characteristics of the spots - dark vs light, shape, pattern, locations - are things that help determine the cause of the spots. Spots may occur from cysts, abscesses, certain types of tumors, or traumatic injury. Cysts are not a concern unless they are big enough to cause problems. Abscesses are infections that can be difficult to treat, but usually clear up with no complications in otherwise healthy people. Tumors may be cancerous or begin.

There's no reason to panic at this point, since cancer is the least common cause. You might call the docs office to see what they are thinking.

On good thing about the spleen - it can be removed as a last resort, so anything problem isolated to the spleen is removed along with the organ.
