I think the younger Chinese like sushi, but the recent immigrant Chinese probably shy away from it.

"I thought it was only Japanese who eat Sushi."
That's kind of a silly statement considering sushi is pretty popular in many US cities and eaten by many people other than just Japanese.

Yes, of course they do, I'm Chinese and I loveee sushi. I worked at a Japanese restaurant with a sushi bar that was run by Chinese people. The only person who's Chinese who doesn't like sushi is my dad...but he's weird.

Everyone eats sushi. Chinese also run a lot of sushi restaurants because the margin on sushi is much higher; hence it's quite lucrative.

I have never been to China, so I know not about it. In Japan, there are some Chinese restaurants, and many offer sushi. One of my cousins says Chinese are Jews of Asia, so they are everywhere in businesss. In Chinatowns in USA, restaurants may have sushi. I not eat much sushi. I like sashimi and live lobster better.

i'm assuming that you are not japanese. however, are there only japanese people that frequent japanese restaurants? no, there are not. if so, then why is it a surprise if chinese people like sushi but not if other cultures do? so to answer your question, i'm going to go out on a limb and say that i'm guessing that out of the entire chinese population of the world, there might just maybe be a couple that like sushi.

ThE LiZ - why do you give that moronic duh answer? Please justify it, if you can. I have been in China many, many times and I can say quite safely that Sushi restaurants were not overly abundant. I saw a couple but hardly very many. The question was "Do most Chinese also like Sushi?" and I would reply that I would bet the vast majority of them have never even tried it. There is not a great deal of love lost between the Chinese and Japanese and I suspect that it is not top of their list of delicacies to try. So again I ask why did you make the moronic answer as if to imply that it was obvious?

Sushi joints and Japanese restaurants in the Far East thrive because the locals (mostly oversea-born Chinese) throng the outlets frequently. When it comes to eating, the Chinese indulge in it with a passion. I do believe they live to eat.

I eat sushi with my hands (which is proper, so screw the fork!) or chopsticks. Chinese I usually wind up eating with a fork because it's faster and I seem to only eat Chinese food on the days I'm about to perish from hunger and need to shove food into my mouth with great haste.

That's like asking if only Americans eat hot dogs.
