a korean let me taste some salt it was vegan but it was if i was eating eggs. iI would like to fool my friends. does anyone know the name of this product? or know where to refer me too?

You're probably thinking of black salt. It does have a strong eggy flavor because of the presence of sodium sulfide. This hydrolyzes in water to release traces of hydrogen sulfide gas. This gas is also produced by rotting egg whites, but in much higher quantities. You can get it in some Indian groceries. I wasn't aware that the Koreans used it as well.

Another trace byproduct of its reaction with water is sodium hydroxide, which gives it an alkaline, soapy feel.
You can accelerate the reaction by adding an acid like vinegar.

I think it's black salt. My wife's Indian they used in certain things--yeah, it has a kind of "sulphur" taste that might remind you of eggs.

I don't know anything about Korean food, but maybe they use the same thing.
