why do people say that they dont eat beef because they feel bad for the poor cows but those same people will eat prok, fish, and chickens, and other meat. it doesnt make sense because they still kill them just as brutally. now i personally love all kinds of meat but i can understand when a person feels bad for animals that are killed and therefore doesnt want to eat it (because i bought my chickens thinking that i would eat them but i watched the, grow up and they were and are cute so now i would feel bad if i killed them and i cant do it but i probably could eat them if someone else killed them like my dad or something) but how can you feel bad that they kill cows so brutally and not be sad that they kill pigs the same way.

A friend of mine gave me a deer he killed and skinned. Some of it was blood shot, but the dog does not seem to mind that at all. She prefers it over her usual dog food.
After butchering it I stuffed the meat into big plastic bags and froze it. Then I thawed it out part way in the microwave. This makes it easier to cut into thin slices. I soaked these slices in a mix of water, soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, garlic, dried chile peppers, and lemon juice for a day. Then I placed them in a dehydrator. I expect that by tonight or tomorrow the jerky will be excellent.
There are lots of deer, and we should be careful not to over hunt them. But gosh, taking a few here and there just makes all sorts of good sense. Too many deer spoil the landscape. Killing a few now and then is just proper game management.
The best part of a deer is the backstrap. But my favorite meat is elk. Nothing tastes better than a properly prepared elk steak. This strikes me as sufficient proof that elk were meant to be eaten. If God did not want us to eat the animals, why did She make them out of meat?
Suddenly I realized I had not really addressed your question. Some people find the thought of killing mice distasteful. I think the reason is anthropomorphization. Walt Disney created personified cartoon mice, and so people began to think that mice were like little people. Cows have big dreamy eyes, and the first introduction of cows to children is the animal that leapt over the moon. Pigs, however, squeal, wallow in mud, and and sought after by hungry wolves. They just seem like a more natural food animal (unless you're a muslim or jew).
Ted Nugent says that a chicken mcnugget doesn't die any easier than a baby fur seal.

The word vegetarian means someone who doesn't eat dead animals that of course includes chicken and fish or their products but they may eat animal products such as milk, eggs and cheese, vegans do not though and there are various degrees inbetween. Many people like the idea of calling themselves vegetarian even if they are not. If you don't eat meat often or only fish then just say that. In short YOU CANNOT eat chicken or seafood (seaweed is okay) and be a vegetarian proper, you just don't eat red meat! To be on the safe side ask each individual vegetarian the things they do and don't eat because many people's idea of what the word means is different.

Who does that? People who cut out red meat usually do so for health reasons, not because of cruelty. Those who are vegetarian because of cruelty concerns also don't each chicken or pork.
Some vegetarians eat fish because they believe fish aren't as sensitive to pain or killed as violently, or other animal products that don't involve animal slaughter, but those are the only exceptions I've heard of from people who call themselves vegetarians.

Well, vegetarians don't eat cows OR pigs OR fish OR chicken... or any other animal. So, your question, if addressed to vegetarians, is moot. We don't eat dead animals, period.
Many people do give up just red meat, but that's mainly a health decision versus an animal cruelty decision.

I've never heard of anyone who wouldn't eat cows because of cruelty but had no problem chomping down on some pig meat or chicken meat. Are you sure this actually happens?

I personally eat and love all meats. I don't have a problem killing animals for food as long as they don't pointlessly suffer as there is no need for that. As long as it's a quick and relatively painless death, it's all good with me.
As far as killing pigs and cows brutally? I don't know of anywhere that does that. Some of the slaughtering looks brutal, but it's all carefully designed and planned in such a way that the animal dies as quickly as possible. I worked in a slaughter house for a while, and I assure you, they don't suffer.
