Chicken Noodle Soup makes me sick

Vegetarian- a person for what ever reason chooses not to eat any animals or products that cause the death of any animals.

If you eat chicken or chicken broth you are not a vegetarian although I'm not quite sure just what a vegaterian is.

Nope. Chicken noodle soup is chicken, and vegetarians don't eat that. Imagine Foods makes a "No Chicken" broth that might be good to use in a soup. Or just use plain old vegetable broth and make a steaming vegetable soup. Amy's (www.amys.com), an all-veg company, has a No Chicken Noodle Soup among her many varieties. I'm not a fan of canned soup, so I don't eat it.

Anyway, when I'm sick, I drink hot tea with agave nectar, Emergen-C (little packets you mix with water; most are vegan), and Naked Food Juice Power C.

Hope you feel better soon.

I knew one who did, every time she got sick. She also made an exception for marshmallows on her yams at Thanksgiving.

In my opinion, if you're going to call yourself a vegetarian then cheat whenever it's convenient and make up excuses for it, you're kind of a hypocrite. Probably better to just call yourself an omnivore and say "I don't eat much meat." (Oh, and I don't mean you in particular, just you in the second person narrative sense.)

Mind you that's not to say bad things about vegetarians and vegans who have had a slip every now and then. Sometimes you just miss that one ingredient on the label and didn't realize it. Sometimes it's your brother's wedding cake, or your little ninety-year old Finnish gramma made a traditional sweet egg bread just for you, doesn't understand veganism, and you don't want to hurt her feelings.

In your case, I suggest you get one of those chicken-flavoured vegetarian broths (the chicken flavour comes from with yeast), then throw in some alphabets for good measure. Maybe even some carrots, celery, and potatoes, if you feel like eating chunky vegetables.

A nice vegetable soup will have the same effect. Its the soothing warmth and liquid that make you feel better, not the chicken. You can make a simple stock by simmering carrots, celery, onions, parsley, turnips, or whatever veggies you like for an hour or so, then adding some noodles, rice, etc., or just drink the hot stock. I make veggie stock all of the time and keep some in the freezer for times like that.

No, dear. Chicken noodle soup is made out of chicken, which vegetarians don't eat. Try sipping on some vegetable broth or miso soup. Any hot liquid will give you some relief from cold symptoms.

Try using mock chicken and mock chicken broth. Then just have rice noodles, and lots of veggies in it! You should be fine. Although when I ate meat eating chicken noodle soup never made me feel better.

No, I eat homemade vegetable soups. It's not the chicken in chicken noodle soup that makes you feel better, it's the broth. Any soup works, especially when it's loaded with garlic.

No, but you could get some vegetable broth and make some noodle soup with the same vegetables. You know celery, carrots, potatoes and onions.

No they do not. By definition vegetarian means a purely vegetarian (non-meat) diet. There are lots of wonderful substitutes that you will become familiar with. Amy's for example makes great soups.
