crazybutterfly1996 makes an excellent point. What, exactly, is the difference between eating a dog and eating a cow? Why is weird to eat an animal that barks but not weird to eat an animal that moos? Leave the emotionalism aside and think logically about it. Either they're both wrong, or they're both right. I go with the former. Only veg*ns have the moral ground to criticize the Koreans for eating dog.
People in glass houses...

They have muscle and fatty tissue, don't they? To them it's merely a different flavoured meat. And quite possibly, there's an abundance of the animals in their country.
Personally, I could never eat dog, cat or horse.. or veal, for that matter. But different cultures have different taboos.

Because cultures are diffrent. Cultures are unique to individuals and groups as fingererprints. There may be a question like this in the China section for example (in Chinese of course)but something more like: Why don't Americans eat cats and dogs? Are they just wierd?".
The fact is that people are simly different. Not wrong, not immoral, not evil, not less intlligent, not more barbaric, not less educated, just differerent.

It depends on what is plentiful and how you are raised to you it would seem odd that they eat animals like this but some one from a different place might think it is weird that you don't eat animals like that.

That's just cultural differences. Maybe some cultures don't see dogs and cats as pets.
As a vegetarian, I don't see any difference in eating a dog from eating a pig. Either one would be equally repulsive.

Because they have nothing else to eat. Not everyone can buy their buy food from the store, so they just make do with whatever happens to be running around.
It is disgusting, but if they don't eat they will starve.

I think we do eat dogs and cats, considering some of the rumors regarding Chinese food.

You find that weird but eating a cow or a pig isn't? I don't get it.
But the answer to the question is they eat what's available.

because life is different everywhere and its easier to eat things in some parts and harder for others because of climate, beliefs, economy, etc. Here its very easy to go shopping to get a frozen veg dish or anything at our fingertips but i totally undertand what you're saying.
