Just bring the pot of water to a boil, salt it with a big pinch of salt, drop the pasta in, stir, and time it according to package directions.
For simple, I really love just tossing the drained pasta with pesto and topping with a handful of grated Parmesan and some black pepper.
Another good one is to saute sliced baby bella mushrooms in butter with some garlic, add a jar of roasted garlic alfredo sauce. Then add a hearty splash of half and half, and a big handful of grated Parmesan. Stir until melted, toss with drained pasta, and top with more Parm, chopped parsley, and black pepper.

Follow the directions on the box of pasta that you want. They all vary in the cooking time. (Basically, boil some water, add the pasta, stir it often. and check it from about 7 minutes on until it's done to your liking.) Drain it and put the sauce over it. The canned and jarred sauces are pretty good nowadays. If you want to make your own: Heat some olive oil on the stove in a fry pan, add about 1/2 an onion chopped and a couple cloves of garlic chopped, put in a tablespoon of basil, the same amt. of oregano if you like, and a can of diced tomatoes. (BASIC red sauce) You can find great recipes on line, though. Search for pasta sauce recipes! Have fun!

You may leave the shrimp out.
Shrimp Alfredo Pasta
Using evaporated milk instead of cream gives this dish a creamy feel
without the fat.
1 package (12-oz.) Refrigerated Fettuccine
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 cup red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 can Evaporated Milk
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
8 ounces medium shrimp, peeled, deveined and cooked
1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
In a nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; cook red bell
pepper and garlic for 30 seconds or until softened slightly. Add to
pasta along with evaporated milk and Parmesan cheese. Cook over
medium-high heat, stirring gently, for 3 to 4 minutes or until sauce
is heated thoroughly and thickened slightly.
Add shrimp and peas; stir gently until heated thoroughly. Remove from
heat; let stand for 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened. Garnish each
serving with parsley and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Season with salt and pepper according to taste.

For a Vege Sauce I chop onions, carrots, celery... garlic...
Saute the veggies in a small amount of olive oil.
[typically I would chop 1 onion, 1 carrot, 2 stalks of celery, three large cloves of garlic] [I'm cooking for two people]
Spices that I generally use are: basil, oregano, thyme, black pepper... if you want it spicier add red pepper flakes.
If I use a commercial tomato sauce I use crushed tomatoes and sometimes a can of diced tomatos... I have also added chopped broccoli &/or cauliflower.
[sometimes I add TVP granules after reconstituting them - gives the sauce a "meaty texture]

Pasta is just cooked in boiling water, with a little salt.
Test by removing a piece, cooling, & biting it.
It should be 'al dente' (to the tooth) not hard in the centre.
Basic sauces are tomato, with garlic, basil & oregano.
I buy the bottled or canned, & just add the spices.
You can add mushrooms, or any vegetables you like.
I use onions & celery, broccoli & zucchini are good.
If you want carrots, put them in with the pasta.

Cooking instructions are usually on the bocks of pasta. Adding some sea salt, kosher salt, or regular salt to the boiling water helps to keep it of sticking together. Boil it till tender (tasting it is the best method), then drain and rinse.
If you cook some vegetables in olive oil and add them to the pasta that works out.

you get water and put some oil in it(not alot but about 2tbs) and then you boil that then you put the noodles in it and let boil for 11 min or till tender. Your sauce can be prego or whatever brand and if you want homade it will not be easy. but the sauce you do not have to put meat in. just veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, and squash it you want. but you cut what you want up and saute it then put the sauce in and stir bring to boil then put sauce over cooked drained noodles
