I went on vacation to a third world country and came back with a really bad cough. I've had it for 3 months now, typically worse at nights. The doctors (yeah I've been to many) diagnosed it with bronchitis but I'm assuming it is chronic bronchitis since I've had it for such a long time. I've tried everything from antibiotics, liquid cough syrups to steriods which helped temporarily but didnt cure it. I've also tried some home remedies like honey with lemon, warm milk with prune in it, and some other things. I'm so sick of this haunting me. Any advice would be appreciated.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

Have you had a chest xray? Have you had a tb test? Do you smoke? have you had any weight loss? Or fever? History of asthma? does albuterol help? These are all questions that are important to know when you go see the doc. Maybe you're using the wrong antibiotics. The 3rd wworld country tha tyou were in, what kind of diseases are endemic to that area? check into that.
