Oxygen saturation at 85%. Pint of blood withdrawn every other week. High blood pressure, high cholesterol. How long can he go on, should I be concerned that the end is near. I do not live near him and he keeps alot to himself

Your father seems very unhealthy. I recommend that you see a holistic physician very soon, rather than continuing visits to a regular doctor. Add me and I can discuss your father's situation with you.

It sounds to me that he is tipping the scales toward giving up the ghost-- sorry.
I would be very surprized if he was still living at home without help. With his lung capacity so diminished, myopathy, and his O2 saturation so low, it would be a major task just getting to the bathroom. Additionally, he wouldn't have the werewithal to comply with meeting his diabetes treatment/management.
If he does live at home, make sure he has someone with him 24 hours a day. He really should be on hospice, too, with daily visits from the hospice nurse.
If it is within your means, you may want to take "family leave" from your job so you can be with him and set up services for him. His time is short, and I wouldn't want you to feel guilty about not seeing him before he dies. I know when my dad got sick, I dropped out of college (against his wishes, naturally) to be with him. To this day I'm so glad I did; he only lasted 3 months and I would have had only 3 days with him if I'd waited until spring break to see him (he died on Wednesday during spring break).
I was fortunate enough to realize I could always go back to school, but I had only one dad. Ditto for a job.

In your fathers case, pt.s with COPD usually show a Spo2 of 90% or less but 85% may cause him to be severely hypoxic. If his oxygen saturation does not improve, he is likely to be a candidate to Endotracheal intubation, which with his history is alarming. If you do have a chance to spend time with your father, please do. Let him know that you love him, because you may not get a chance later.

He is very ill but they may be able to keep him alive for some time with diminishing quality of life.
You need to discuss this with his doctor

no one knows how long he has. .. but it sounds like the end is almost here for him for sure.
