What ingredient is it that they put in Chinese & Thai food that gives you the same taste in your mouth long after you finish eating? Also, not to be gross, but when you burp it always tastes the same.

It's MSG. It manipulates you taste buds and makes everything taste same.
In America we thinks it's bad for you, but the Chinese have eaten it for hundreds of years and for the most part are a pretty healthy race.

It could also be fish sauce which is another common ingredient that is used in addition to everything else mentioned.

In addition to above, Hoisin sauce is a comon ingreadient that sticks with you.

Soy Sauce or plum sauce they use it in eveything they cook generally
