I'm looking for some games that we could play when walking and/or at the campsite that doesn't need too much gear (or none at all). It is a six day walk, with all days 7 hours, so we have plenty of time!

A pack of playing cards is just about the most portable type of amusement you can carry with you. And no, you don't have to gamble to play a game of cards.

One thing you haven't mentioned is the ages of all the people who will be participating. Are you all adults, presumably young adults, or will there be kids in the group as well.

Kids are the ones most likely to be bored, as in the infamous "Are we there yet?" question which drives the driver out of his (her?) mind. :-)

Won't there be new sights to look at to keep you amused, ow what?

Traditionally, when camping in Scouts and Cubs, we used to sing songs around a campfire in the evening.

And in Scouts the participants were encouraged to make up "skits" - short performances to amuse the others. There was always competition to see who could put on the best stunt or tell the best joke.

You could have a story-telling contest. An acting contest, a movie or TV show quiz... Anything that gives you all a buzz and makes life a bit of fun.

Enjoy.

When walking or driving we play category games where you each take turns picking a category. Then each person takes turns trying to name something in that category starting with each letter of the alphabet.

Example: Someone picks "makes of cars" for the category.
The first person has to name a car starting with an A (Alfa Romeo). The next person has to name a car starting with a B (Buick), etc. until you finish the alphabet.
