What heritage are you?

I am trying to trace my family tree, I have been told that I have indian in me.

Its definitely an Indian surname, especially the way it is spelt. I found an Indian lady with the same surname.

Here is a standard tip for you, in starting your research-
NO SURNAME is exclusively limited to any one ethnic background. Example.. a person named Smith MIGHT have Indian background, and may not.
In order to trace your family tree... you must research individual persons, not a surname. Your family tree will not be exclusively any name.. since each ancestor has their own name (and their own history). Just to see it in the simplest way... your father has one name, your mother has another. Now, extend that back to grandparents, and so on.
The process of finding YOUR ancestors will depend on finding reliable records to verify into. Family traditions are not always correct.

Look for variations in the spelling while tracing your tree. The Indian connection is very hard to verify.

As you look in the Census records...look for someone who is counted as non-white.....mulatto, for example.

yea, its Indian...im part Indian too ;-)!!! do u know wich part of Indiia ur ancestors came from? im still tryna find dat out, nobody wana answer mah question:-( can u answer mah question about mah ancestors? its in mah profile!
