Well according to your doctrine, hell is a punishment for sins you COMMITTED. And since homosexuality as an orientation is mostly determined by biopsychological factors rather than choice (as shown by research), it is not a sin to be sexually attracted to the opposite sex. Rather, your choice to act on these impulses would determine your moral state (at least that's how the argument goes in Catholicism).
If you ask me, this whole doctrine is completely unfair. Heterosexual people get to act on their impulses and they don't sin (within marriage), but gay people can't. And it's not their fault. Oh well...

The best thing you can do is just accept yourself as you are. If you know you can't change it, then don't torment yourself. The God/dess I worship is loving, but then I am one of the weird Christians who believes Christ died to redeem everyone.
Check out your Bible and see if Christ ever said anything about homosexuality; you may be surprised to find He said nothing on the subject. If this were so great a sin as to send you to hellfire, don't you think he would have mentioned it?
This is what He does say, however:
Mark 12:28-31:
28One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'There is no commandment greater than these."
Whaaa??? Jesus says you are to love yourself?
However, if the idea that homosexuality is sin has been entrenched deeply into your belief system, then you may want to go the abstinence route. I have been celibate for over five years now, but it is not easy.
I really don't think God/dess wants you to torment yourself.
Sometimes I wish Paul would just shut up...lol.

God knows you are gay, He knew us in our mothers' wombs. Yet, He called you and you answered, right? Why would He allow you to be "born again" if you were an abomination in His eyes?
I'm a Christian gay man. You can be gay and Christian and know the love of Christ. Find a church which does not promote and justify the sin of homophobia and love God with all your heart and love others as you love yourself.
And as you know, no one chooses to be gay just like no one chose to be heterosexual. You were born that way, you are a Child of God, God loves you and you are beautiful!
If you want to e-mail me directly, please do so anytime. I can give you some links that will help you.
God bless you on your walk with Him.

If you have accepted Christ as your savior you are not going to hell. I can't answer all your questions, but I have gay Christian friends. They also feel that God made them that way and they shouldn't fight against it anymore. But they still pray and try to follow Christ's teachings of loving God by showing kindness and compassion to other people, praying and loving Christ with all their hearts and putting Him first.
I'm sorry I can't help you more, but I know God loves you and won't ever stop loving you. Peace to you from your sister in Christ.

First, relax. Homosexuality is a natural variation that occurs in over 1,500 different species. You were born this way, and you aren't sick, just different in the same way people who have blue eyes or are left-handed are different from the majority. Different does not equal wrong.
There are Christian denominations that will accept you just as you are - I think the United Methodist Church is very open-minded. See if you can find a church near you.
Jesus never said a word against being gay. The only parts of the bible that mention it are mistranslated, and most are in the Old Testament, which is superseded by Jesus, or interjected by Paul, a criminal who never knew Jesus. Have confidence that Jesus said everything he meant to say, and would have nothing against you for being who you are.

Find another religion now.
The intolerance of some who have answered already - who say you are a liar for caliming you did not choose to be gay - is indicative of what is in store from born again Christians.
It is THEM who are wrong, and NOT you. A loving god could not have made you the way you are just to damn you. So either he is not loving, or the born again Christian movement is about as in touch with him as they are with life on Alpha Centauri.

assuming this is a 'for real" question........
Medical Science now even says being gay is a choice brought on by one's enviroment such as the things you read, people you surround yourself with, things you watch, etc, etc.
If this is the case, change your enviroment........at least the part that is tempting you
You cannot be gay and Christian at the same time
You cannot willingly sin against God's Word and be Christian
He requires us to follow His Word, you will stumble, UNINTENTIALLY many times thruout your life but if asked in sincerity, you will be forgiven................but NOT if you plan of doing it again....It doesn't work that way.
This answer will get many thumbs down. Those people want you to stumbles and fail............so they will have plenty of company I suppose.
Just read 1st Corinthains 6 : 9-10. That explains a lot
Good luck to you
You have a Merry Christmas and Good New Year too

I'm not an expert but my heart goes out to you because I can see how badly you are hurting.
You know that God loves you just the way you are and you tell me that you have put your trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you from sin. To everyone who has been born again the Lord has promised not to leave us alone to struggle with sin but He has promised to come and live inside of you and to transform you into a new creature.
If you read Romans chapter 7 you will see that all christians still struggle with our sinful nature and we all have particular sins that so easily trip us up in our walk with the Lord.
The first thing you must do is completely ignore the mantra of our popular culture and get alone with God in earnest prayer and in earnest Bible study. You must learn for yourself what God thinks about homosexuality.
The Bible says some directly strong statements against the lifestyle of homosexuality and Christ has died to free you from the sin that binds you. Christ promised not to leave you in bondage to a sinful lifestyle.
Many sinners are born with a particular predisposition toward drug addiction, or lying, or stealing, or sexual addiction, etc.
God did not create you to be homosexual. Why would he instill in you a sexual orientation that He directly opposes in His word the Bible? He would not.
What you should do:
#1. Get alone with God and pray. Tell God that you sincerely want to honor Him with your life and your body. Ask God for His help.
#2. Get alone with God and your Bible. Spend time every day reading and prayerfully meditating on His Word.
#3. Seek out Godly counseling and filter everything you hear through what the Bible says. If it doesn't line up with scripture then reject it.
God will never, ever reject someone who is sincerely seeking Him and willing to trust Him fully! Christ is the only hope any of us have to be free of sins grasp on our hearts and minds.
God Bless You!

Be who you are and celebrate your uniqueness. If you believe you are going to hell then you need to rethink your religious beliefs. Life is short. Accept yourself, respect yourself and be happy in who you are. You are a young man. Don't waste your life in fear of hell and judgement because they don't exist. God loves you as you are because that is how She made you.

I agree with Gazoo --no just God will pass judgment because of your sexuality. You didn't have a choice in being born a human being, did you? You don't have a choice about your sexuality, either. Just be yourself, live a good life, and be comfortable with who you are.
