Spanish help please.?

Question

I want to say. "the question seems to be if we have gone too far with our spending over Christmas."
My attempt is:
La question parece a ser si hemos pasado la raya con nuestro consumo a navidad.

But I'm pretty sure it's wrong. Please help!

A mi me parece que, la pregunta deberia ser si nos hemos pasado de la raya con nuestros gastos durante la Navidad.

"question" is not real Spanish. The word is "pregunta".

You don't need the "a" participle with parece. It is just "parece ser".

"A Navidad" is not "at Christmas". You need "durante".

Not an exact translation, but this is something Spanish speakers in Mexico would say. Sometimes things don't convert word-for-word from English to Spanish and Spanish to English, which is the beauty of the whole thing. Some things are better said in English and others in Spanish.
