Soak dry food in water till soft, pet stores sell dog milk substitute or use goat milk to soak it in too.You may need to put abit on your finger to get them to lap it up at first but they'll get the idea. They are old enough to eat soft food and don't need bottle feeding

Why on earth do you have a 1 month old pup? This puppy should be with its mother and litter mates till at the earliest 8 weeks. If you can't even afford puppy milk how are you going to afford the vaccinations? Good quality food? Vet bills? General supplies? I wouldn't suggest giving this dog back to someone that let a pup go at a month old but you certainly need to give him/her up to a shelter that can find an experienced foster carer. You certainly can't give a puppy cows milk as dogs are lactose intolerant, goats milk would be the second alternative from puppy formula. This puppy is likely to never have been wormed too which is very dangerous.

Hey there! Puppies ae weaning at this age. You need to start feeding him/her a mash made from a premium puppy food (Iams, Eukanuba, or Wal-Mart makes a decent puppy food called Maximum Nutrition if money is an issue) Just make sure whatever food you pick you stick with. Puppy digestive tracts are sensitive. If he/she does get diarrhea from the switch to puppy food (which is common! Try not to panic too much as long as it lasts 24 hrs or less and pup isnot vomiting!) you can give a teaspoon or so of PLAIN UNFLAVORED yogurt. Put the puppy food in a blender to make it into a powder. Then mix it with warm water (about 1 part water to 2 parts puppy food dust!) and let it soak. How big is puppy and what breed? This will help let me know how much to tell you to feed them. Puppies always act like they are starving so lots of people overfeed. Every 3-4 hours or so is a good rule of thumb. Make sure that he/she has water at all times. If the puppy eats the gruel well for 3-4 days, start just soaking the food until it is very soft. Do this by covering the food with hot water (about two times as much water as food - you can drain the extra water if it all doesn't soak in) just be sure to check the temp before feeding it to your pup! I like to soak food completely until pup is about 6 weeks and just soak to soften it until about 8 weeks. He should be fully weaned (not drinking mom's milk) around 5.5-6 weeks. You can leave the puppy with his mom and littermates, though - this will teach him manners - just make suremom can get away rom the pups. They have sharp little teeth at this point. You can also add some formula to the food, but it is not necessary and formula is very expensive. Puppy food has all the nutrition your baby needs! Now is also a good time to take him to the vet to be wormed. The reason that some pups have a pot belly or diarrhea is because of a worm load. Don't feel bad if your pup does have them - 95% of them do! Also be sure to start cutting back mom's food a little and stopping any additives, unless she is thin. You want her to dry up so her mammary glands do not get infected (mastitis). Now is also a good time to make an appointment to ge tmom spayed. If you cannot afford it, chck your local humane society - they may know of a cheap or free clinic - it's better than having unwanted pups and safer for mom! Good luck and feel free to e-mail me with any more questons! Sorry this is so long....:-D

Well at 4 weeks he should have been started weening off the mother.. I start usually about 3-3 1/2 weeks.. I put some puppy food in the blender and then soak it with Esbilac (making it kinds soupy), I do that for two feedings and water the other two feedings, making sure they eat about 4 times a day. After about 4-5 weeks you can cut down the feedings because one, they will start being a little more independent just wanting to eat only a few times a day and secondly, you want to start to introduce them to the kibbles of food..
You can also mix in some things like a tablespoon or two of yogurt(mine loved strawberry flavor), and cottage cheese is good for them if you can get them to eat that up.
Once you get them eating good with regular puppy food, your next step is potty training all....
Good Luck... :)

At a month old they should begin being weaned.
I moisten puppy food with goats milk and make it like a soup at this age. More so they can lap it up and not chew much.
When you give them this about 3 times a day you should remove mom for about 1 hour before. put their littel noses in soe they start licking.
In a week make it thicher more like oatmeal
In another weeks make it slightly moise and give water and leave a small bowl down so they can start to nibble by 7-71/2 weeks htey should be on dry food.
Also all pups are born with worms and along with mom should be wormed at 2,4,6,and 8 weeks.
Pups can get there first shots at 6 weeks but should get them by 8 weeks before going to a new home.

Puppies need to have mothers milk for 8 weeks before they can eat other food. You can go to the pet store and buy dog formula and feed it to the pups with a bottle. Don't try giving them anything else.

I had some orphaned puppies at 3 1/2 weeks ... I fed:
-Esbilac 1st Step made w/Pure water(mostly)
-Canidae wetted down w/pure water
-Dr Schulzes Intestinal Formula #2 (tsp-tbs)
Blend it up so it's soupy. They lapped it right out of my hand (very messily).
