Just a quick question but eveything I have been reading tells me that it is the pill slows or stops weight loss. Is this true?

If so when is the best time to come off it? Plus are there any other contraceptives with out this side effect?

No thats not true although the pill can make some people put on a small amount of weight. All contraceptives have side effects except condoms. Just eat healthy and exercise and you will lose weight no different to if you wasnt taking the pill

the pill doesnt make you gain as much weight as the depo provera shot and still it is minimal weight gain. . . and the people that gain the weight are more suceptable to it, it really just depends on the person, my friend gained weight while on the pill and i lost weight! but i also got pregnant while on the pill also. . . . . . . try it out for a while, if you see weight gain stop and see about looking into something else. . .. the best advice for me would be to use condoms, that would be the easiest on your body. . . as far as all the hormones in shots or pills. . . .. but there are also IUD's you could explore the option of. .

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

The pill makes you put on the equivalent of 1 or 2 lbs a year. I managed to lose 2 stone while on it so I you certainly can if you diet and exercise sensibly.

Hello,

(ANS) The contraceptive pill is designed to prevent pregnancy and it does this by altering or changing the bodies hormones especially estrogen and progesterone. These affect the month ovulation cycle.

**So I see no reason you couldn't loose weight whilst remaining on the contraceptive pill.

**However, I don't know what the relationship between the hormones estrogen and progesterone is on weight gain? if there is one.

**I suspect that to get the most precise answer i.e. the most objective answer you would definitely be best to ask your GP or family doctor.

**I sincerely doubt anyone here (no offense intended) would have the medical technical knowledge to answer this question because its very very specific & precise. It may vary anyway depending upon a number of variable factors such as how long you've been taking the pill etc.

Sure you can lose weight with the proper diet and exercise. Well, a condom certainly doesn't have weight gain as a side effect, and neither does abstinence.

I'm Anthony. I lost 75 pounds and shed my high school nickname Pudgy. Our family has a tragic history of cardiac disease and rheumatoid arthritis. I am proud to say that family tradition ends with me. I know I have broken the cycle and will never have to be faced with those illnesses. Thank, you have changed my life
