There is a world of difference between knowing of someone and knowing him personally. Getting to know anyone takes time and effort. Getting to God may be particularly challenging given the fact that we can not see him. Is it worth the time and effort needed to get to know God closely?

Yes to both questions. Jehovah God wants us to get to know him. The psalmist wrote: "That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth." He recognizes that it is in our own best interests for us to know him. "I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit yourself." Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 48:17.
One real benefit is that we get guidance in the face of everyday problems, a firm hope for the future, and peace of mind. Furthermore, being well-acquainted with Jehovah moves us to develop a different attitude on vital issues such as what is our purpose in life and why does God allow wickedness.

Yes Sir... nothing beats knowing God personally...!!! you can get your prayers answered on the spot!

Hosea 9:14-16 (NIV) (the prophet is improvising a prayer to the LORD!!!...) Give them, O LORD— what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry. (And God rushes to answer him on the spot, like a God fearing Bush would!!!) "Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious. Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. EVEN IF THEY BEAR CHILDREN, I WILL SLAY THEIR CHERISHED OFFSPRING."

God always answers our prayer even before we open our eyes, if we ask him “according to his will”…!

Jeremiah 16:3-4 (NIV) For this is what the LORD says about the sons and daughters* (*babies) born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers: "They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like refuse lying on the ground. They will perish by sword and famine, and their dead bodies will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth."

May God’s sadistic pleasure endure for ever and ever…! and all of God’s people who know him personally say, “AMEN!!! and AMEN!!!” Any Christian of a sadistic orientation will find a real Paradise in Heaven. The rest will just rejoice in the LORD… whatever they think that is!

That's why we have faith.
We get close to God by communicating to him by praying
We can say that God answers our prayers by the very fact that we wake up in the morning and we have a cozy bed, shelter, food for breakfast.
I know him by heart!

To know him personally is a lot to do with your faith in him. Do you accept Jesus as your Savior?Do you believe in the trinity?(Father,Son & Holy spirit) I was a sceptic until i came across Benny Hinn's ministry and also experience a personal crisis that left me with nothing else to live for. After entrusting me life wholly to him,(Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on yoyr own understanding - Prov 3:5) all my prayers were answered.(i adopted Psalm 143 as my personal daily prayer). My advice is to talk to him as you would another person and believe that he is with you cause he is.

you need to get a new living translation or an English translation bible so that you can understand it better. yes you need to get to know Jehovah better, he is the one who can make you and destroy you. he is a god of love. conversations to Jehovah will help. He may not be able to be seen through the visual eye ,but he also says that every eye will see and every knee will bend one day. I believe that if you pray and ask him to answer your prayer that he will do so in his own way.
