I have been doing some research on colon cleanse products. I understand that some just act as a laxative and some help tp clean out your system. I have read on some websites that doctor's say a colon cleanse is not needed because you body already does an excellent job at filtering things out. Sounds like they are keeping job security to me. How then do you explain the people that loose weight and have all that nasty stuff flush out of thier system? People say just eat fiber but eating fiber alone and eating well does not allow all that "junk" to flush out. I'm sure you have seen the pictures. My question is: If they say it's not needed, they how do you explain the massive ammount of junk that gets released after using one of these products? Woudl much rather NOT have that in my body. Thanks

People mention that they didn't need that hundreds of years ago, But hundreds of years ago we did not have the toxins and chemicals that are in our food today. It's a fact that processed food has many items that our body was not meant to digest.

u lose weight because ur body doesnt have time to absorb as many of the things it ordinarily does... Ur intestines move the faeces along by peristaltic movements, which normally works fine at cleaning everything out, but for someone who has some kind of bowel disorder (divtiulitis (cant remember how to spell it!) or irritable bowel syndrome etc) it doesnt get cleared out as effectively. If it say got 'caught' on a bit of inflammed skin..it could cause serious troubles.
The 'junk' that is flushed out from the pictures u say... would normally come out.. just a little later than it does with a colon cleansing product.
I personally dont think they do any good. The purpose of eating is to get the nutrients into the body, and the body doesnt get a chance to do so wen doin this. Plus its not actually all that good for ur digestive system, as its not functioning the way it was designed to...
hope this helps a little! :)

Remember in Beverly Hills Cop when Judge Reihholdt tells the his partner that "by the time the average man is 50 years old he'll have 5 pounds of undigested, rotting meat in his intestines"?
This question reminded me of that. I've never had the "colon cleansing", although because of severe medical problems I've had a bunch of unofficial colon cleansing for medical tests. (I'm not sure if it accomplishes the same thing or not.)
I'm convinced that it IS necessary for our health to get rid of those toxins.

People have been living for millions of years without the need for colon cleansing.
I doubt the Julius Caesar, Plato, Confucious or Noah felt the need for a colon cleanse.

You don't need one; but a clean colon is a happy colon, and can help reduce risk factors and other stuffs.
you could just take a lot of fiber; but if you're a bigger person, cleaning out your colon can shed up to ten pounds from your weight.

you answered your own question. only people that have diets high in processed foods would see benefit from a colon cleanse. coincidentally these same people typically get little to no exercise which can also have a negative effect on the bowel

It's not needed like vitamin C pills aren't needed. It'll help you if you take it though.
Personally I would avoid having a tube shoved up my butt and then warm water jetisent into my bum, lol. But I have heard it's good for you.
