Our Kangaroo is called Late for Dinner.
Our Koala is called Dessert.
Our Crocodile is called Entree, and our Possum is called Main Course.
Of course this gets confusing at family gatherings, especially Christmas. All the family sit around waiting for the entree, but Entree's a shy croc, which causes the Prawns to dry out. When we serve the next dish, we can't call it main course, because this confuses the Possum, who gets upset and won't get off the table. The meal ends up ruined when the dessert is eaten by Entree before it reaches the table, and we substitute Dessert for it, who is a little tough, and needs a lot of brandy cream to help her slip down. Of course, Late for Dinner arrives after everything is cleaned up, and only the Blowies are left on the table.
Oh the joys of an Aussie Bush Christmas!
Ho Ho Ho to all.

We had a pet kangaroo called "Miska" many years ago. It used to make that sound when it wanted a treat. We also had a bandicoot, a Frog Mouth Owl, and lots of baby rabbits the dogs brought home when they wanted their own pets. The wild animals were orphans and eventually left home, but the baby rabbits usually died within a few hours, even if we took them away from the dogs.

The big one is Skippy and the little one is Joey.
Not very original names, but what the heck.

The wombat is Wilberforce and we have Stinky the koala, because he's stinky.

(Are there really people reading these Q & As who are taking them seriously? There's one born every minute.)

"Dumb Yank". It causes a bit of a problem because whenever I call it every American in earshot assumes I am talking to them.
