Whether you're a christian, a muslim, or an atheist, what do you think the meaning of life is?

I believe that the meaning of life is to perpetuate, and I believe that we try to influence those around us during our lifetime in order to perpetuate our own mentalities in a quest for immortalization.

The meaning of life is to continue our existence, and to end our suffering in the process.

It may be cyclical, but who says living to stay alive isn't a good reason?

I'm Buddhist, and since I believe in an afterlife, the purpose of my life is to seek Enlightenment so that I can end suffering and remain in the afterlife.

Only if God exists can there be a meaning of life. The word "meaning" requires an intelligent plan or design. Natural processes such as evolution do not have plans so there is nothing, including perpetuating, that we can point to as a natural meaning of life.

Meaning and purpose are really the same thing. It is just that we use the word "meaning" for actions and "purpose" for things. Both require an intelligent plan.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell

Russell was a brilliant 20th century mathematician, philosopher and Nobel Laureate. He was also an atheist but he saw clearly that without God, all of our hopes for meaning and purpose are simply self delusion.

Life doesn't really have a 'meaning', it's just a result of DNAs continual struggle to reproduce itself.
Personally life means different thing to different people. I want to enjoy life because I like being alive. I really don't want to live in an afterlife, living forever would be incredibly boring, especially if it was like a church, that would be hell for me.
