Steve LeTarte is not leaving the 24 team or HMS, he will be crew chief for Jeff Gordon in 2008 and beyond. The 24 team lost Jeff Meendering who was car chief for the 24 team. He left to pursue a crew chief opportunity with Bobby Labonte and the 43 team. Jason Burdett, former crew chief for Dale Jarrett was tapped to be car chief for Jeff Gordon in 2008. He worked at Hendrick before as he was car chief for the 48 team when they debuted in 2002.

Steve Letarte is still going to be Jeff Gordon's CREW Chief. That confused me too when I first saw the article a couple weeks ago. He will have a new CAR Chief whose name is Jeff Meendering. It would be a stupid move in my opinion to move Steve Letarte from Crew Chief to another position since Steve and Jeff have been doing so well together.

Steve LeTarte will still be Gordon's Crew Chief. You must be thinking about the car cheif, Jeff Meendering, who went to Petty. I imagine the car chief will be either from the old #5 team or the #25 team.

Steve L. is till going to be his crew chief...Its the Car Chief that left Jeff M.. I'm sure will be hearing who his replacement is pretty soon....But Steve Letart is still his crew chief...
