Glenda drops a coin from ear level down a wishing well. The coin falls a distance of 7.00 m before it strikes the water. If the speed of sound is 343 m/s, how long after Glenda releases the coin will she hear a splash?

OMG, this should be in Physics sections not riddles, but wht the heck, here is the answer:
1st calculte the time needed so the coin hit the will:
t1= d/V2, d=7m
mgh = m(V2^2 -V1^2), V1=0, h=7
9.8*7 = V2^2 -----> V2 =8.3
t1= 0.84 sec
now the time so the sound to get to Glenda
t2= d/Vs Vs =343m/s d=7
t2= 0.02 sec
t= t1+t2 =0.86 sec
it will take

if glenda jumps down the well as she drops it she wont hear the coin splash as the noise from her hitting the water will cover the sound

0.0204 seconds after it hits the water, so lets say, 1.5204 seconds approximately.
