I work with a canon eos 1d mark I (it's old I know but it's not in my hands to change it I have to work with it) and my pictures come out unfocused or not well focused. I've also had trouble focusing on still subjects(!!!)with its autofocus function. When I turn it on manual things are a little better but still the pictures aren't as good as they used to be!!! I'm looking at the manual right now to see if I'm doing sth wrong but I also wanna know if there's a chance that sth might be wrong with the camera....

For example,if you used 35-70mm,28-105mm or 75-300mm lenses, before you start shooting pictures ,you must switch your lens to 70mm for (35-70mm lens),105mm for( 28-105mm lens) or 300mm for (75-300mm lens) to focus the subject first ,then the images will not blur or out of focusing, because once you have the lenses like these that I have written here, Depth of Field will be loss, unless you are using 18mm, 28mm or 35mm lens.(Wide angle lenses).

If I may ask what are your lighting conditions when you encounter these problems? Even with some of the best autofocus cameras, when you are dealing with low-light situations you will run into focusing issues. By the way does the camera focus in manual focus mode?

It sounds as though it needs service. You should be able to manually focus and if you can't then there's a problem in the camera or lens.

If you're in the U.S. contact garryscamera@yahoo.com and ask Garry if he services your model of camera. He has serviced 8 of my Minolta cameras this year (routine maintenance and meter calibration) and he is very reasonable.

Most Canons have 2 batteries. Check if the small coin size one needs to be replaced.
