That's your perception, luv. I prefer non-denominational churches when I have the choice. If someone asks my religion, what else am I supposed to say except "Christian"? There really isn't any other answer. I suppose I could say "non-denominational Christian", but that's rather a mouthful. I don't claim that the others are not Christian. I just don't have many other choices.

Christianity is a religion. Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, etc. are denominations of Christianity. So when you asked people what religion they are they told you--Christian. Therefore you cannot assume that all the people who said they are Christian in response to your question, in fact go to a non-denominational church. You didn't ask them their denomination, and so in most cases, they didn't tell you. Even Christians who go to denomination churches recognize that the important thing is that they are Christian, the denomination they attend is relatively unimportant.

Well Tango, I just wish you gave a rip about what I answer... Anyway, I do not feel this way. One of the things I have enjoyed most about my time in seminary is seeing the diversity in the Body of Christ.
Many of the disagreements between groups are not as large as they would appear. You can liken it to good natured banter around a family dinner table.
Of course we all think that we have it right. Why would I not believe and practice in the way I feel is correct? Some do take it to far however, just like every other disagreement in every part of life.
Now Tango the only question is what will it take to get you into the family?

I'm non-denominational. I don't go to a church. I don't believe any mortal has authority over me to dictate to me what I should or shouldn't believe. I'm an intelligent human who can discern for myself how to follow what I know to be true.

It seem that a lot of believers think they have exclusive rights to God, Jesus, and eternity.
