Both Jews and Palistinians believe that they are God's chosen people. Ultimately they are both fighting eachother because of that.
Jacob is the father of the Isralites(Jews) And his older brother; Esau is the father of the Aribs(Palistine)
Traditionaly the other brother gets the birthright blessing(Esau), but in this case God gave the birthright blessing to the younger (Jacob)
They have been fighting over that birthright ever since. The birthright blessing was to carry the title of God's chosen people.
As for the part of God not setting peace. Just means God hasn't done that yet. Not that he doesn't care, He cared so much that he sent his son Jesus as a sacrifice for the debt we owe God for every sin me make. Jesus has already paid that debt, we can't earn our way to heaven. its a gift free for the taking. All you need to do is Ask.

I don't know if I'm exactly right but in the bible God made a promise to Abraham that he will be the father of many nations. He and Sara were old and had not had a child yet. Abraham went to Sara's servant with her permission so that he may have a child. At the age of 90 or 100 Sara became pregnant with Issac. Now because God made the promise to Abraham and he meant it for he and Sara he could not break it with his other son by the servant lady (i forgot her name) anyways those two sons have always been at it and till this day the two tribes fight in that same area

The time will come when Jesus will return to rule and reign on the earth for a thousand years. In that day there will be peace all over the world. Until that time there will be troubles of one kind or another on earth.

Read the book of Genesis. It is the first book. Start there and understand how the whole mess started. Read about father Abraham and how he waited for a child and how he at first lost faith that he would have one of his own and had one from a slave woman. Read what happened... the you will understand the root of why we have a problem over there today. Don't make a judgment about something you do not understand... learn and think about this a little. Jesus even predicted that there would be no peace... not till the coming of the anti-Christ and then that would fail as well. This concept is nothing new... so what is the point to your argument?

Yes, you`re right. But it`s sad isn`t it. To think of all those people that have died over an imaginary being.
(Shakes Head) This is why I take a form of protest against the religious establishment. Not only is it irrational and just plain silly it`s also dangerous.

Well, there was peace under the Ottoman Empire, but everything got mixed up when England and France chopped up the region into arbitrary countries and left.

A day to God is a thousand years to man it is written. Men are naturally born evil, because of the first sin. They battle over generations of their bloodline killed, for revenge, property and all the rest of it. You could nuke it all and the first livable 10 miles next to the strike zone, a conflict would begin.
No man knows the mind of God, just His written words copied by man, Your anger is against men, and not the creator.

There is no holy ground. Maybe that "god" you're speaking of is trying to shut them up with a curse on the land.

Holiest on earth assuming you are of the Abrahamic persuasion, to the rest of us it is just some place. Wouldn't even make my top ten places to visit.
