I was having a cup of cofee with my gf, and we were discusssing different topics when she said "you know I can learn a lot about a man, by the way he treats his mother." Do you find this statement true, and what patterns do you look at to see how the mom is being treated?

i've heard this theory plenty of times and read many blurbs about this phrase in magazines. however, i don't believe it's true. a man could have a totally different relationship with his mother than with his girlfriend. he could love his mom, but his gf might be clingy and naggy so he doesn't treat the gf as well as the mom. or he could be really distant from his mom, so then that results in him treating his girlfriend like a queen.

YES she is the most important first female in his life if he is nasty, mean or disrespectful to her how do you think you will fair if he is pissed at you, it can also pay to look at how he treats his ex girlfriends, he do sent have to be best of friends with them but if the two of you have trouble how do you think he might act, does he act like an adult or a nasty revengeful 2 year old

I have my doubts. I don't have anything to do with my mother, and I don't particularly have any respect for her either. There is no correllation with my GFs. I have treated them lovingly and respectfully. It sounds like an old-wife's tale to me.

My brother treats our mom like garbage, but he's practically made a religion out of worshiping his wife =)

No. My ex treated his mom the best and he ended up lying to me one day and drastically change into a monster man... So no.
