My lab had an undesended testicle. When I went for a checkup when he was 6 months it still hadn't dropped and they told me that I could get him neutered now and it would cost me almost double or I could wait to see if it would drop. I waited and it's finally dropped when he was 9 1/2 months old. So I would keep waiting, I don't know about whether your dog was neutered or not..with the hole scar thing but yeah, just thought I would let ua know that there is still a chance it will drop.

Actually there have been stories of judges that have found dogs with 3 "testicles" where someone whos dog had not decended had an implant and in the excitement of the show the second testicle decended and the judge "found" three lol. I really dislike that they can have implants because that means these breeders are going to make it more possible for puppies to be born with only one testicle. The only way to know for sure if a dog has testicles is for a vet to check.
Good for the store owner to have him neutered early (I suspect thats what happened) since the puppy was most likely from a puppy mill- almost every puppy in a pet store is.

Testicles are descended at birth, but occasionally descend later. If they haven't by now, they're not going to. Have a vet check him out--if there really is a scar there he was probably neutered. The only other way to tell is to do a blood test to check for testosterone--if it is present, then he is a bilateral cryptorchid, meaning both testes are in the abdominal cavity. If so, he should be neutered to prevent cancer in the undescended testicles.

The pregnancy probably won't kill her, but the whelping is another story. An 8 month old puppy is not only unprepared to be a mother, but the effects of the drain of resources on her growing body will be permanent. Ask yourself what you would do if your 10 year old daughter were to become pregnant. Would you ignore the risks to her in favor of an unborn child, or would you do what's in her best interest? Same thing

If his testicles have not come down yet, and if you see a scar, it's probably cause he is already neutered. Even if he isn't neutered, his testicles should be down by now for sure.

Why does it matter if it drops or not? He should be neutered. Dogs purchased from stores should never be bred, they are not breeding quality. So regardless of whether or not his testicle drops, he should be neutered.

Put your poodle on table and form a tight seal with your mouth around the nut of choice. Suck firmly and remember if you do not suck hard enough, nothing will happen. I did this for all my dogs because I am a vet and they all have successful testicles.

if they have not dropped by now, chances are they wont. You should have a vet examine him to be sure. If he's not neutered and they are undecended he is at a very high risk for cancer.
