Actually, religion is just a name - a scientific term to describe what people believe.
"Religion" is more than what people believe; it is a way of life; a lifestyle; a philosophy of how you live your life.
No one can say tell you what to choose. Every god says the same. I am true, but it is up to you to choose the path you want to take - whether you want to believe in me.
Some people choose according to experience. Because of a certain experience with a certain divine being, they believe its existence.
Some people choose accordingly to convenience. They find a certain lifestyle easier to adopt.
Some choose according to the mass. They believe in the one where the majority believes.
And some choose after a long period of research.
Some don't get to choose. They are born into it.
Take time to experience all and read about them. And depends on your own needs, find one that suits you or one that you find that you have faith in.
I am a Christian, I don't do any introduction or evangelism here to you, because I believe in God and that He is the Truth.
So, eventually your studies will lead to Him.
Amen.

I believe that the Bible is God's word, & that his teachings --exactly as found within it-- are the right path. Unfortunately, there are those who earnestly don't want anyone on that right path, & repeatedly attempt to discourage those seeking to find & stay on it. So:
"“Keep your senses, be watchful. Your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone.”--1 Peter 5:8

Either of the above can answer your question/s better that can be done on Y!As. Also, if you are wanting to compare the many major world religions, you may want to read the concise book:
"Mankind's Search for God" (#8)

It is unbiased, & so thorough that some collage religion professors have their students use it. I like that it keeps each religion in its own, seperate chapters. So, it is easy to study about just one of them at a time, without confusion.

It is a personal journey, between you and God. Ask God to turn on the lights of the path and lead you, this way you are on His path and no one elses.

Don't follow man made religion because the broad is the way to destruction. which is all religion. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. narrow is the way to life.

There are many paths to the top of the mountain (the top of the mountain means God, or Heaven, or Nirvana).

Yes, your own path is the only way. Unfortunately most people follow their patricular religion because they were brought up that way when they were kids.
