ok, despite everyone's outright objections, I have to say it depends on a couple of factors.

FIRST. Is this kitten purebred? Will it have papers? If so, the option to let it mate depends on if you want to breed cats (as in show cats). Some people do this for a living and make a lot of money.

SECOND. If your cat had kittens, do you know people who would be up for adoption if you couldn't keep them? If so then one litter would be ok and then after that you'd have to re-think the idea of mating again.

Personally, I'd lean toward getting the kitten fixed just because there are so many cats out there that don't have homes and I'd prefer to adopt them instead =)

Please do not let your kitten mate. As everyone else has said, there are already FAR too many homeless kittens in the world. Even IF she is a papered cat -- every kitten that you place in a home means another cat goes homeless. And Laura...I don't know of many breeders that actually make money.

Besides, having your cat fixed will keep him or her a LOT healthier. Please have your kitten neutered as soon as you can.

Please don't put her through that. Take her and have her spayed as soon as she is big enough. She will live a longer healthier life and the world will be spared a few hundred stray/feral cats.

No, please adopt more cats if you need. There are thousands of cats being put to sleep everyday.

no. get it fixed soon. if its a male, they get really aggressive when they get older if they aren't fixed. and if its a female, they get pregnant a lot.
