Of course Mormons believe Jesus Christ was crucified for us. It is the core, fundamental teaching of the church and the foundation of our faith.

I don't get the intolerance, misinformation, and poor treatment shown fellow Christians.

Mormon doctrine encompasses a substitution theory of the Atonement complimented by their own scripture...:

"The relationship of justice, mercy, agency, and God's unconditional love. Christ's infinite atonement was required to satisfy the demands of justice based on eternal law, rendering Him Mediator, Redeemer, and Advocate with the Father. Thus, he proffers divine mercy to the truly penitent who voluntarily come unto him, offering them the gift of his grace to "lift them up" and "be perfected in Him" through his merits (2 Nephi 2 and 9; Alma 12, 34, and 42; Moroni 9:25; 10:33; compare Isaiah 55:1-9). "

One of Mormonism' most beloved treatises is entitled "Jesus the Christ" by James Talmage....so I don't know why these false statements are being made....

edit:
and despite the mormon above saying Christ is not God, that is misleading, he is a God in their belief...but subordinate to the Supreme God the Father...Elohim...

Mormons believe that Christ was the literal son of God and that he atoned for the sins of mankind so that we can once again live with our Heavenly Father.
We believe he is our savior. We believe he is divine. We believe in the Jesus of the New Testament and in fact have been studying the NT this year in sunday school.

Why do nonmormons think they know more about what mormons believe than mormons themselves?
Our churchs official stance is that Christ is our Savior, first born son of God, literal son of God in the flesh. That he created this world under the priesthood authority of God and is part of the Godhead, but not God.
Whoever said the official stance is that he is just a prophet is just plain wrong.
I dont get people that like to preach to other people what it is they actually believe.
jojo and beach, you clearly dont know what mormons believe.

Christ isnt God. We believe OUR God is our Heavenly Father. Whenever a mormon or anyone refers to God they are talking about our Heavenly Father. We do believe that Jesus is a God, but not God, when referring to God. Jesus is our savior and our brother, but not our God.

YES WE DO!!! just because we don't wear crosses or hang up crosses anywhere, doesn't mean we don't believe that he wasn't crucified for us! He was crucified so that he could save us! This was God's plan so that we could live again after death and we could be forgiven.

Absolutely yes. You should be extremely careful when trying to learn about Mormons from others. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed.

I've been around them my whole life (my mother's family and many of my childhood friends are LDS) and because of their secret, they call it sacred society, I don't know just what the hell they believe. I do know that they live the cleanest existence that I have ever seen humans live but, they almost seem like they are from Mars or another planet or something. I guess it's all their mumbo jumbo about "terrestrial and celestial body's".

ABEL S is right. They do not believe that Jesus and God are the same person. They believe that they are two different entities with the same purpose.

I'm gonna play like I'm from Missouri. When they show me the archaeological evidence that a great battle took place in upstate New York around the hill Cumora, then I might start to believe.
