My life has been full of up and down relationships and problems. I recently met up with someone that I have known my entire life, but have not seen in 15 years. We hit it off so well and have talked everyday since September. We both have so much in common, but also have so much 'baggage' that we know whatever will happen with us, will be quite some time from now. We are both single parents and know our children come first, and we refuse to bring them in the middle of a relationship. We are going to remain how we are, see eachother when time allows, and enjoy every mintue we can with eachother. The real kicker....we live 500 miles apart. Moral of the story...I am trying to find the 'perfect' song that I can listen to that kind of matches our story. I can listen to music 24/7 and feel that music really helps relax me and allows me to think. I am more of an alternative, rock, slow rock kind of girl. Love pearl jam, counting crows...I know this question is off the wall, but can anyone help

The hardest part of the long distance thing....is how much it cost to see eachother. But it gives us the time to spend with our kids and with our own lives. Like I said, we are very comfortable with it, take advantage of the time we have. We both were not looking for anything, relationships etc. It just happend.

Some good songs, I would say, could be "Baby I'm A Want You" by Bread, "If" by Bread, "Your The Inspiration" by Chicago, "Time In A Bottle" by Jim Croce, or maybe "Just The Two Of Us" by Al Green. If you guys plan on just staying friends you could check out "Thank You For Being A Friend" by Andrew Gold. There are MANY songs fitting your situation quite nicely, I just named a few songs I like.
God bless

Survivor-- "The Search is Over"
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were with me all the while
Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times it's so confusing, the questions of the heart
You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to my senses through some miracle of fate
I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were with me all the while
Kind of an old song, but it seems to fit your situation.

I know you said you like rock, but try this one and see if you like it, it is by Rascal Flatts. "Broken Road" is the name of it, and it is a slow country song about how life doesnt always work out the way you planned, but then, because things didnt work out, another door opens to the future you were REALLY meant to have, I hope you like it, it is a pretty song and it sounds perfect for you.
