what r the requirements to be a rescue swmmer?

im looking at alot of diffrent jobs in many diffrent branches. and rescue swimmer stood out in my mind.. please help

The rescuer must be alert, must know how to swim and must be able save lives.

I don't no. take a swiming class they you all about what you want to do?
