For some odd reason, my siamese cat always licks my dad's face. I'm not sure if its like the stubble on his face or what but its really weird. Also, could he be marking him with his "cat scent"? Does my cat think my dad is its mom? lol really weird! Any ideas why this is?? Thanks!

Your dad has a salty face and your cat loves it.

That and the cat probably loves your dad. :)

My cat does that to me, too -- he does it so much, in fact, that I have had to purchase special face cream to get rid of the dry skin he leaves behind!

From everything I've read, it appears that when cats are licking us they're reverting back to kittenhood, when their mommy groomed them. In other words, it's a form of affection and a demonstration of trust and comfort.

As to why McAuslan (my cat) sticks exclusively to my face, I couldn't tell you. But I sure need to slap on the cream to compensate.

The cat might like to lick the salt from his sweat.

one reason cats lick us is because of the salt on our skin that we secret from sweat. They also do it to show affection. I have a 9 yr old cat that does that to me when we are "bonding". It actually very sweet. She loves her daddy.

Maybe your kitty likes your dad, sometimes my kitties lick me for no reason. It might be just a sign of affection.
