I see a couple of people mentioned wet tail. My daughter lost a hampster to that a few years ago. I guess if you catch it quick you can save it, but not likely, and you don't say how long you've had her or she's been like that. If you just mean stink, like because hampsters stink, there is a solution!!! There is a product called Bi-Odor, you can get it at any pet supply or vet. A small $12.00 bottle will last you forever. You just a couple of squirts in your hampsters water bottle and no odor!! I didn't believe it until I tried it! My daughter has a dwarf rabbit in her bedroom and I have to remind her to change the cage every so often because there is no smell at all. If your baby has wet tail that's a different outcome - and you will know pretty quick. I hope you just need bi-odor!

As people have mentioned, clean her out and check her bottom for urine and smeered poop.
You also have a female and when they come into heat they release a very pungent odour to attract males, in this case there is nothing you can do but wait it out, it never lasts more then a day.
Just because she's in heat doesn't mean she needs to be bred, especially if she id over 6 months old.

Check her rear end, if it looks wet she could have wet-tail. It smells really horrible, but it can be fatal. You can go to a pet store (Petsmart) and get a medicine called Dritail.

First though is also wet tail. second thought ...does your hamster live alone? could she have gotten pregnant? if alone stick to wet tail, either way a trip to the vet is needed
