Before you hire anyone, take a look at the free resources available at The Foundation Center, and find out how much you need to do, and see if you can do it yourself. There is an enormous repository of materials on how you can start and find funding a nonprofit organization. Go to http://www.foundationcenter.org and select the "getting started' tab.
