YES THEY EXIST! Paragon CRT is what I have. Most importantly they have been approved by the FDA for overnight wear. I have been wearing these since June. They are hard lenses that you wear at night and when you take them out in the morning you can see perfectly without wearing any other lenses or glasses. Some people can go a few days without putting them back in and notice little change.
They work by changing the shape of your cornea while you sleep. I now have better than 20/20 vision. They take about 3 seconds to pop in and thats it, you go to sleep and don't know they are there. Once you put them in you can see in the lenses. You have to get them from an eye doctor, but they don't literally have a prescription strength, instead they begin shaping your cornea as soon as you put them in. they don't really require special care either. You clean them and store them like soft lenses.
The initial fitting was $1600 which included everything. The lens generally don't have to be replaced for 3-5 years and they are about $300 for the pair. That is already less than that many years supply of disposable lenses. It was well worth the money.
If you decide to stop wearing them, your vision will return to what it was before wearing the CRT lenses in a few weeks.
There are some age restrictions and prescription strength restrictions. Like they are not recommended for children or for people over 40 or so. It is worth looking into.

I wonder how that is possible that you can have good vision without wearing them. Was this something that you heard "from a friend of a friend" Because wearing contacts while you sleep can damage your eyes

My friend has these and she uses them! She loves them alot because she can watch tv before she goes to bed without having to take them out. They are pretty expensive though, I think they cost like 45 dollars for one box. I use regular contacts that you replace every two weeks because I can't afford the night-day ones.

hey!
my eye doctor was telling me about these.
they aren't supposed to feel any different at all during the night and if you wear them for a certain amount of years, you might not even need to wear them every night, only every so often!
i really want them!
:]

I've never heard of them. There are contacts you can wear 24/7 for up to a week at a time, but I wouldn't even recommend it. I scratched my cornea and could have ended up blind because of contacts worn overnight over 3 days.

What brand name do these go by?

The concept doesn't even make sense.

*** Well I'll be damned. I wasn't doubting, really. I am a contact wearer and I had NEVER heard of these.
