They say it's highly contagious and can spread not only to other parts of your body, but you can give it to others. In my own experience, both my daughter and I have had it. It did spread in the same area (beginning the size of a dime and on my little girl ending up the size of a half dollar), but did not spread to other parts of the body. Make sure you keep applying the anti-fungal, don't cover it with a bandage. Also, keep treating it even after it looks like it's gone. If you see it getting bigger, go to the doc's. They can become infected.

If you've had it this long and it hasn't spread, then I wouldn't worry. Just make sure you don't rub the back of your arm on your scalp..LOL

Ringworm is very contagious if you do not take proper care. Your bad habit of itching may spread it to other parts of your body. So the first thing is to stop touching the area. Just prevent yourself from itching and touching it. If you have touched the area, wash your hands.

Some of the things you can do for preventing it from spreading are

1) Do not touch the area with bare hands. if you do so then wash your hands properly as this will prevent spreading to other parts of the body.

2) Use a small cloth to wipe the area if it is itching.

3) Do not share your belongings like clothes, towel etc. with other family members.

Use the treatment regularly until it is completely gone. Hopefully it will be cured.
