well i gave a present before he left. he then hugged and kissed me on the cheek (like friends do). i hugged him back and was about to kiss him on the cheek but he was too tall for me to reach so my lips landed on his neck. i was like oh god i didnt mean to do that bcoz neck means something else. he didn't seem to mind at all. what do ya think?

Not odd, but if you like - the next time a chance comes around to give him a peck on the cheek reach your hand up and jokingly ask him for his cheek and add "last time I tried to do this I got your neck!" and laugh about it, but not nervously- be easy going about it, and natural - it's not bad to kiss his neck, it just wasn't your intention that's all!

It's a bit weird for me to kiss a make friend on the neck because usually, it means that you want to be intimate with him.
But if it's completely by mistake and he didn't seem to mind, you don't have to worry about it ;)

Just blow it off as an accident. A kiss on the neck is usually pretty intimate but if it was an accident like you say, so there. Don't make much of it. Just be cool.
