You can only be sponsored by a relative, according to current Canadian immigration. An employer, or a non-relative of any kind, cannot be a sponsor.
The only way for your tourist friend to work is to do so illegally. It goes on, but I would hope that anyone would have more respect for my country than to come here as a visitor and then break the law.
Besides, your friend might be deported if caught working illegally, and banned from re-entry for a certain length of time--or never.

If your fried wants to be sponsored she has to search for jobs and start sending resumes from her country of origin. Most of the time, concerning canada, t would be easier if she just applied for a residency visa and go through the regular process of immigration. It is easier than trying to find a sponsor. that is really hard to get since she has to prove she possesses qualities and knowledge in a field no one in the whole Canada has. The country is open for immigration, again, she would be better of just applying as a Skilled worker. There is a free test on the immigration site to see if she gets the numbers of points needed to have her application accepted... the official site for immigration is http://www.cic.gc.ca/
If she is patient not only she will learn more about the country but will be able to gather all documentation herself and start the process on her own.
