So I applied for a local police officer position... well I passed the initial oral interview, the medical screening, the agilty test and during the agility test we got fitted for uniforms. Well the last step was an interview with the Police Chief.. well it was about 10 minutes long, the Chief spoke about the benefits, rookie school, what he expects from us, and also 4-5 people out of about 14 won't be hired. He said he would call me by Saturday and let me know if I get a job offer.. After the interview we were sent back across the street where we were "fitted" for uniforms again, and also guys were calling us new recruits..

However, if we don't officially have the job yet, why were we being fitted for uniforms? And making it all the way to the Chief's interview? Do I have a shot at this or no?

The uniform fitting was done out of convenience. You were all there already, so it saved the department time by doing them all at once, and saved you the trouble of going back again after you are hired. The tailor had to measure 9 or 10 recruits anyway, measuring all 14 was not much additional work.

Sounds like you got a decent shot at the job. Hope you hear good news.

You have a shot at the job.

The order for the uniforms won't go in, until the Chief submits the list of people who were accepted to the Academy.
And the measurements of the people who were not accepted will be discarded.

I've never heard of anyone being fitted for a uniform before being offered and accepting the job.

Yeah, you have a good shot at the job. Unless you said something really odd to the Chief. . .

About the only thing that would bounce you out now is something negative on the background check. You didn't tell them about your porn star career did you?
