It seems to me that it is designed to appeal to our fear of death... What could be better than surviving forever and never having to fear eternal death..?
It is a very appealing promise and one that has been replicated in religion after religion - they all promise some kind of extension to our mortal lives.
I think it's only sensible that Jesus, in a long line of prophets, would also promise that life goes on forever. If he didn't, I imagine he would be much less popular.

i'm no longer one in all Jehovah's Witnesses yet i'm a pupil of heritage and faith. i do no longer bypass alongside with the doctrine that Jesus is God Almighty. i do not see this as a theological difficulty. the actual undeniable actuality that Jesus is the son of God who change into despatched by ability of the daddy does no longer educate that Jesus is one and a similar in substance before and after his delivery as a man or woman. such an excellent style of scriptures to validify that he's a separate individual and not in any respect area of a trinity to reveal his suitable sacrifice is sufficient for the redemption of mankind's sins. Jesus prayed to his Father that his followers might want to be one basically as he and his Father are one, in concept and objective in basic terms--John17. actually you would possibly want to agree he change into no longer declaring they could connect a Godhead. Many verses might want to be utilized to make sparkling Christ's unique oneness with God even although he change into no longer the Almighty in human kind and after his ascension to heaven. imagine about it, might want to God Almighty Himself actual enter into human kind and redeem mankind! it would not be a ransom of equivalent stability for mankind might want to it?--a million Ki 8:27; Mt 20:28; a million Ti 2:6; a million Co 15:40 5. the concept of the trinity is being promoted on your question and so there's a biased view out of your perspective. a severe examine out non secular heritage is in order to work out that this doctrine is of pagan concept, alongside with a personal learn of the completed bible canon gained't provide help to this practise, yet will educate that Christ isn't area of a trinity doctrine. With love in Christ, C

Eternal Life is a new life that we cannot comprehend.
It is how God lives, without the bondage of time, in perfect serenity.
