Can a person be born with out eyes or even eye sockets? If yes, can you tell me the condition that its called and a link to a case or example of it?

I don't remember the name but I read a story of a baby that had it 2 months ago in readers digest. They had to put in fake eyes so the skull would form right. I remember they said this case was extremely rare because it was both eyes.
You can probably google it and find out.

Oh it is called anophtalmia.

Years ago, I read a story about a Vietnamese woman who had several children with this defect as a result of her exposure to Agent Orange as a child. Some of the children not only had no eyes but no sockets either.

I saw an episode on the maury povich show and they showed a guy without a forehead. I forget what happend to him. His head and face looked like a moto cross helmet. It was sad. His face was all sunken in and he had no eyes. He might have been born this way not sure though.
