Ok, my high school caught on fire about 4 hours ago. NO JOKE!

The west gym was on fire and the flames were coming out of the windows.

Anyways, when no one was looking I snuck into the side doors where there wasn't anyone.

I got some video of the first floor, but I wanted to get some of the burn gym, and the hallway was dark so all I had to see was the little light on my video camera.

As I was walking down the hallway into the gym, the middle school principle (who is a serious a**hole!!) stopped me and I told him I was getting some video for the records.

He told me I had to leave because it was illegal and I should leave before the cops saw me in there.

I have a relative who works with the state, and they've never heard of such a law before.

The doors did NOT have police take by or through them.

And another thing, if it's illegal, then why the hell was he in there?!?!?!

Until the investigation is over, yes it is illegal. Also, you don't have a legal reason to be in the building after school, and there is no school when there has been a fire. You didn't belong there.

Sounds like the principal was a pretty nice guy to you by letting you get out without getting into trouble.

WOW
1) SNUCK IN-SO YOU JUST DID NOT WALK CASUALLY IN THROUGH THE FRONT DOORS?

2) GOT VIDEO- TAPED A SCENE AND CONTAMINATED IT AS WELL?

3) MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPLE-AUTHORITY WITH SCHOOL DISTRICT?

4) HE TOLD YOU IT WAS ILLEGAL- THEN HE WAS CORRECT.

5) STATE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A LAW? CRIME SCENE--INVESTIGATION--EVIDENCE--FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS CONTROL NOT POLICE. ARSON INVESTIGATORS (FIRE DEPARTMENT)
INTERESTINGLY IN ILLINOIS LAW, THE STATE FIRE MARSHALL'S OFFICE AND IT'S SPECIAL AGENTS ARE THE ONLY UNIT ALLOWED TO INVESTIGATE ARSON FIRES ETC???

6) NO TAPE POLICE--NO NOT POLICE FIRE ARSON INVESTIGATION TEAM.

7) ILLEGAL WHY HE THERE.--HAD AUTHORITY AS A SCHOOL OFFICIAL??

Yes it is illegal because it is extremely dangerous, and you could have also contaminated the crime scene. The principal had authority to be there, probably to make sure snot nosed brats like you stayed out of the way.
