Even if you had all of your tax documents in hand right now, if you filed now it would sit in a pile in the mail room at the IRS Service Center until about January 11th when the actual processing of returns will begin.

No. You may be done working for income this year but you could pay expenses by 12/31 that are deductible. That is why the IRS says you have to wait like everybody else.

No, you have to wait for your W-2 from your employer. If you are self-employed you still have to wait until the first week in January before you can file.

No, the forms aren't even available yet. The IRS doesn't accept mailed returns until January 1, or efiled until Jan 11.
