I am a Christian and I have noticed that a lot of fellow Christians attack athiests that question their faith...

I have done this also..It is hard not to get offended by such an attack. But aren't we supposed to show love towards everyone, even if they are not a believer?? Just wondering...

I realize that this works both ways...I asked a question earlier about athiests attacking Christians...

I was just asking whether Christians are supposed to be attacking athiests... Aren't we supposed to love everyone...and not just certain people..

Wow!!! I really didn't mean to offend anyone...sorry if you took it that way...

Yes, ofcourse! By YELLING at people you are not defending your faith well because you are giving them another excuse to call christians hypocrites. You should always calmly express you opinions and how you feel to people who are lost and don't believe in God. I know it's hard and I am not perfect, but we have to do it. We are representatives for Christ!!!!!!!!!

Most do not have enough intelligence to ask a decent question.

My faith cannot be attacked, especially by the Biblical illiterate.

What is attacked is my hope for the lost.

The evidence can be viewed daily in the questions and answers on this forum.

It is very discouraging to shine bright in darkness.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Do you think God will not discipline and rebuke.
And in the Millennium rule with a rod of iron.

It is also discouraging to have love always defined as sweet by other Christians. What Bible are you reading?

Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

I would be interested in knowing what you consider an attack? It's seems that a lot of people think that just because you come back with something different then what you believe, or even question what you believe, that they are being attacked. Of course this is not the case.

In all honesty, it does not bother me. I've been a non-believer in the past and I can empathize with their views. Although there are a few that are rude, they are easy to ignore. I find that many of the questions are well thought out and worth answering if I have an answer I feel is worth sharing.

We suppose to just love one another. And we need to shine and not be offensive in anyway towards non-believers. Just ignore offensive things, but don't take revenge. Cause vengence is mine says the Lord. When non-believers ask offensive questions answer them with respect. When non-believers ask good questions answer them with the same respect. We supposed to be the light of the world and we need to start acting more like it! Happy Holidays!

It goes both ways, believers attacking non believers and vice-versa. I believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion. They can believe in what suits them. It is a sad thing, people attacking each others faith. Even though I am a non-practicant christian (and non-believer), I still respect those who do believe.

They would think I'm even weirder than they already do. I say some questionable things on here.... They seriously think I'm weird. LOL. Today I ran around saying I was a pony. And if they ever saw what I've said on Y!A, they would question me even more than they did when I was running around saying I was a pony.. "Why do you say such things Joanna?" "What is wrong with you?" I say weird things on here... but I'd say the same things in real life. I mean the things I say on here aren't as weird as the things I do in real life. :)

I personally think its ridiculous to sit there and attack anyone or even argue your point. People can think what they want. In my mind it all goes back to 1st Peter 3 it says they may be won over without words. If the door opens to talk to someone and they recieve it great and if not move on.

I don't attack but I tell them as it is. Most of the time, it is not people questioning our faith but deliberately provoking us to retaliate and if we are not careful, we can get drawn into attacking back. On Yahoo Answers, to me, it is alright to say your piece, sometimes a bit strongly worded, in order to defend your faith as well as get your points across but as Christians, we must try to take care not to get too personal in our reply. "Attack the problem, not the person!"

Love is divine. Your religious beliefs are implanted either by your relatives or society. Religion has been designed by man. God, the Almighty, Jehovah; whichever name you call Him is Universal, so really it doesn't matter what other people say, keep an open mind, everybody is entitled to their opinion, we don't have to take it personal. Whatever makes you happy in the spirit is fine and remember love is the answer to all our problems, and also regardless of creed, religious beliefs, race or nationality we are all children of God.

religion and politics are the biggest argument starters. i just try to stay neutral in all categories and listen to both sides. i am a christian and yes it is hard to not be angry at times when we are insulted. but on the other side you need to see the others view as well. they are getting pounded by many religions and all other opinions why they should do that. and yes we are to love all.
