We have a flat panel Vizio tv. We just bought the mount for the wall, but it will still stick out several inches. We want to buy vertical speakers we can mount next to it on the wall to sort of mask the awkwardness of it sticking out and plus, just to get better sound. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Lots of manufacturers are addressing solutions for flat panel TVs. One of my favorites is Artison. They have the most innovative 2 Speaker solution I have heard. While some manufacturers go the traditional 3 speaker design (which works fine) with a speaker on either side of the TV and 1 right below or, in some cases, above. Artison houses all three speakers in 2 boxes. The left and right speaker are in the lower half of their respective enclosures, and the center channel it made up of an identical tweeter/woofer assembly in the top half of both speakers. In addition there is a tweeter on the back of each box angled outwards to bounce off the wall and overcome the limitations of having the speakers so close together. Artison has a mount/grill kit to match virtually any flat panel to make it look like it belongs on it.
As much as I like the sound of them you have to be happy with it. So if you are interested give them a listen.
If you don't like those or if you are looking for something a little less expensive (They go for about $1700 for the pair) the Paradigm Cinema 110s go for about $900 for the system including sub and are designed for flat panel installation.
An alternative is the Yamaha Sound Projector, YSP900 for $899 + a sub. Its the easiest to install and you don't need a receiver. 1 speaker below your TV and you are done.
I have heard all of these and all are a good value.
Good Luck.

Use a seek engine form in plasma vs liquid crystal reveal. do no longer seek LED, because of the fact this is purely merchandising and marketing. LED TVs are purely liquid crystal reveal TVs with LED backlights as a replace of CCFL backlights. liquid crystal reveal TVs with LEDs oftentimes carry out greater desirable than different liquid crystal reveal TVs, yet they nonetheless have all the failings of liquid crystal reveal TVs.
