How long before they stop making games for ps 2?

Sony will continue to make games for the PS2 atleast until 2010 which came out of Phil Harrison's mouth himself which is the president of Sony.Yes it is still worth getting I own a PS3 and a PS2 and love em both but I have to admit PS2 has way more & better games than the PS3 or any system out.Go get the PS2 you wont regret it.

I really don't think that it's worth it to buy a PS2 right now. Yeah, I know that the PS2 has a lot of good games to choose from, but in terms of new games, there really aren't that many good games coming out for the PS2. Most developers are now just working on PS3 games only.
I know that there will be some new games for the PS2 next year, but it wont be that many, and the games that come out wont be anything special.
If you were to get the 20GB, 60GB, or 80GB PS3 you could play PS1, PS2, and PS3 games. The 40GB PS3 cant play PS2 games.
I think that it would be a better idea to save up money and buy a PS3. They really aren't that expensive. But in one of your earlier questions you said that you live in Mexico and the PS3 costs $700 bucks there, but it's still worth it because you will have all of the Playstation consoles all in one.

It's really not worth getting the PS2 because there's not going to be a lot of new games for it. It will continue to get games in 2008, but it's probably going to be about 1 game a month.
If you really want a PS2, wait till January 2008. Sony is rumored to be introducing a more compact PS2, and it's going to be 99 bucks.

They will always make games for ps2 and if you cant afford the ps3 get the ps2 that what I am going to get also for the ps3 it depends on how many gigs you get for the price to be cheap

Look in PS2 section of www.ign.com and see, that the last PS2 game is due 2009.

they will make ps2 games for a little while yet, but they are slowly phasing out. it is better to get the ps3 with backwards compatability so that u can play all 3 game types on one machine..imo
